Nurturing Culinary Talent for Global Impact: Celebrating Azerbaijani Heritage and Innovation in Gastronomy
Pilot Group Graduation Day
On October 14, Culinary Arts Center of Azerbaijan (CÁSÁ), in collaboration with the Baku Tourism Vocational School, celebrated the graduation of its first Culinary Arts pilot group at the historic Ateshgah Temple. The event welcomed esteemed representatives from Azerbaijan’s State Tourism Agency and the State Agency for Vocational Education.
In his address, Fuad Nagiyev, Chairman of the State Tourism Agency, highlighted Azerbaijan's focus on promoting its rich culinary heritage as part of its tourism strategy. He noted that national dishes have been cataloged, and culinary tourism routes have been expanded to support the growth of young chefs through specialized training programs like CASA’s pilot group.
Director Ceyhun Kerimov of the Vocational Education Agency emphasized the program’s significance in developing professional culinary talent and promoting Azerbaijani cuisine worldwide.
During the year-long program, the 18 graduates, trained by local and international experts, participated in various competitions, including the CÁSÁ Culinary Cup and Golden Shah Championship, achieving impressive results. English language and practical culinary skills were integral to their training, preparing them for both local and international opportunities.
CÁSÁ is Azerbaijan’s only culinary school accredited by the World Association of Chefs Societies, supporting graduates in accessing global employment opportunities through its programs recognized by City & Guilds and World Chefs.
